On April 4, the RA NA Vice President Mikayel Melkumyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Armenia Nawaf Alenezi.

Mikayel Melkumyan underlined with satisfaction that the dialogue existing between the two states had activated, highlighted the further strengthening of the inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the development of cooperation in a number of spheres. Mikayel Melkumyan touched upon the necessity of expanding the volumes of the goods turnover between the two countries, as well as the steps taken towards boosting the cooperation in the spheres of economy, social security and tourism.

Nawaf Alenezi has also highlighted the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the implementation of the joint programmes in a number of spheres, noting that the State of Kuwait undertakes appropriate steps for the fulfillment of those programmes. The Ambassador considered necessary the organization of exhibitions and different events by the RA Embassy to make recognizable Armenia and the Armenians to the society of Kuwait.

In the course of the meeting both sides emphasized the work of the Friendship Groups, the activation of the mutual visits, the development of the trade-economic cooperation, in particular the implementation of the investment programmes. The possibilities of the implementation of Yerevan-Kuwait flight were also discussed.

Mikayel Melkumyan conveyed the Ambassador his invitation for the Vice President of the Parliament of the State of Kuwait to visit Armenia.
